The Inspiration: Illuminating the Da Nang Sky

This project began in the vibrant summer of 2026, during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF). Naser, a discerning collector and a loyal returning client, traveled to Da Nang, the coastal city that is home to HANDDN. After experiencing the breathtaking fireworks display alongside the HANDDN artisan team, Naser wanted a way to capture the explosive beauty, illumination, and shared camaraderie of that evening.

The material and craftsmanship

To translate the explosive energy of a firework onto the narrow canvas of a watch strap, our artisans relied on our most trusted bespoke material foundations, minimizing the need for new experimental composites while maximizing structural integrity.

The exterior facade is crafted from premium, natural Vegetable-Tanned (Vegtan) leather. Renowned for its resilient yet pliable collagen structure, Vegtan is the ideal medium for our artisans’ micro-engineering. It flawlessly absorbs deep hand-carving strokes and retains sharp, three-dimensional details over time without the risk of surface cracking.

To balance this striking, deeply textured exterior with uncompromising daily comfort, the strap is lined with the prestigious Zermatt Golden calf leather from France. Serving as the gold standard in luxury horology, this specialized lining ensures a buttery-soft embrace against the wrist while providing absolute sweat resistance and hypoallergenic properties.
