What are taxes and which ones might you need to pay?
When shopping internationally, taxes are mandatory charges imposed by customs and government agencies to control, regulate and protect the domestic market. Taxes and fees that may arise when an order from Vietnam is shipped to the US include:
- Import Duty
- Reciprocal Tariff 20%
- Other related fees (requested by the carrier or customs)
HANDDN’s Tax Support Policy
HANDDN applies the following support policy:
- You only need to pay the first USD 15 for any taxes and fees.
- Any amount beyond USD 15 will be covered by HANDDN.
Example:
- If the total tax is USD 25 → You pay USD 15, HANDDN supports USD 10.
This way, all additional costs beyond USD 15 will be handled by HANDDN for you.
Tax Refund Processing Time
- Once you submit the refund form and provide all required documents (such as tax receipt, invoice, or notice from the carrier/customs), HANDDN will verify and confirm.
- Average processing time: 4 – 7 business days from the date we receive complete information.
- In special cases that require additional verification with the carrier, processing may take longer. HANDDN will notify you if any delay occurs.
How to Apply for a Tax Refund
To receive support from HANDDN quickly, please fill out the tax refund form with the following basic information:
- Order number (required): The order ID from your HANDDN purchase
- Full name (required): Your full name, exactly as used on the order
- Email (required): The same email address used for your purchase
- Tracking number (required): The shipment tracking number provided by the carrier (DHL, FedEx, UPS…). You can find it in the confirmation email we sent once your order was completed
- Shipping carrier (required): Specify the carrier name (e.g., DHL, FedEx, USPS, Singapore post,..). This is also listed in your order confirmation email
- The exact tax amount (USD) shown on your customs document (required): Please provide the tax amount indicated on the official customs paperwork or receipt. (Currency: USD)
- File/bill/image(s) (required): Mandatory – please attach the invoice, receipt, or screenshot provided by customs/carrier
- Note (optional): Add any additional information or message you want us to know
