Box calf leather has a classic smooth surface and is very shiny. If you look closely you can see the fine grain of the skin, but the structure is tougher than the grainy skin type. Compared to grainy leather, the surface of Box Calf leather is more prone to scratches, but over time, they will form a beautiful mirror-like rust.
