Omega had a big year in 2024, not just with its regular watch releases but also as a major sponsor of the Summer Olympics, where it launched several Olympic-themed models. Just as it seemed Omega had wrapped up its celebrations, the brand turned its attention to the Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo 2026Omega introduced the Moonshine Gold Omega Seamaster Milano Cortina 2026, a watch that blends Olympic heritage with a vintage-inspired design to mark the occasion.

If the design looks familiar, it draws from Omega’s history. In 1956, Omega released a gold-cased Seamaster with sharp, angular lugs to commemorate both the Melbourne Summer Games and the Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Games. In 2008, Omega revived this design for the Beijing Olympics, increasing the case size from 35mm to 37mm.

The latest version follows that blueprint, now crafted from 18K Moonshine Gold with a 37mm width, 11.55mm thickness, and 45mm lug-to-lug measurement. The dog-leg lugs maintain their distinctive angular shape, and the entire case has a polished finish. A box-style sapphire crystal sits on top, contributing to the watch’s noticeable height. On the case back, a Milano Cortina 2026 medallion is featured, and water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

The dial is a bright, crisp white in honor of the Winter Games. It is domed and made from polished Grand Feu enamel, with Petit Feu enamel used for the minute markers and Seamaster text. A vintage Omega logo sits at the top, while Moonshine Gold hour markers mirror those from the original 1956 Cortina model. The hour and minute hands, also in Moonshine Gold, are shaped in the classic dauphine style.

Inside, the Omega Seamaster Milano Cortina is powered by the Omega Calibre 8807, running at 3.5Hz with a 55-hour power reserve. Like many modern Omega movements, it features a Co-Axial escapement, free-sprung balance, and METAS certification for precision and durability. The watch comes on a brown alligator leather strap with a gold pin buckle.
